The world's first electric dredging set is a fact: the WK 350 NG-E. The vehicle is a collaboration between Staad and Waterking . The 35-ton dredging vehicle uses a Staad superstructure and the amphibious chassis has been further developed by Waterking, a specialist dredging company from Tynaarlo. Fusion , a Staad brand, supplies the batteries. The Damen dredging pump completes the set. The superstructure is of the DX355LC Electric type, which is driven by an electric motor that delivers 145 kW nominal power. The machine has two interchangeable Powerbox 400 batteries , with a total available power of 800 kWh. This allows this dredging machine to operate for a full working day.

With this machine, Waterking wants to show that emission-free dredging is possible. "You see that everything is becoming increasingly electrified, but our sector is still lagging behind," according to marketer Daniƫl Assen of Waterking. "We prefer to be pioneers than to lag behind."
Jakob Knoop, director of Waterking, adds: "In addition to the machine being fully electric, the process of changing the batteries is also fully electric. This is done with an electrically powered truck. This solution makes emission-free work even more accessible."
The Powerboxes can also be charged via the mains. With a quick charge function you have a full Powerbox in just over three hours.
This emission-free and quieter dredger can be viewed in real life at the upcoming Bauma , after which it will be available for its first job. We wish Waterking, on behalf of Staad and team Fusion, a lot of success at Bauma and afterwards with the first job. We will certainly speak to each other here, because we from Staad ourselves will also be present with a stand at this large fair.
