A brand new and groundbreaking electric wheeled excavator specially designed for the comfort of the operator. The STAAD 17W is not a converted machine, but a fully electric solution that rolls off the production line emission-free. The design of this electric machine is optimized for working in confined spaces, with a compact upper structure and an innovative boom design. The total swing radius of the upper structure has been reduced by 74 centimeters compared to a comparable standard 17.4-tonne diesel excavator.
With this wheeled excavator, Staad introduces the Powerbox 300, a robust and compact battery designed to withstand tough conditions, making it ideal for dusty environments. The newly developed, interchangeable Powerbox 300 can also be used as an independent and stand-alone AC power generator, providing a flexible, sustainable energy solution for various on-site energy needs. With the Powerbox 300, the STAAD 17W excavator can be used for 9 to 11 hours* at a time.
The STAAD 17W is 100% emission-free and has the high productivity you can expect from a machine. It is powered by an electric motor that delivers 104 kW nominal power. Thanks to the easily interchangeable Powerbox 300, it is possible to use this machine 24/7. Changing a Powerbox 300 is as quick as refueling a diesel machine. By using a high voltage system, an electric chassis and further optimizations, there is less loss and greater efficiency is achieved.
Please note: The STAAD 17W will be available mid-2026. Follow our social media channels for more information. Also check out the Staad Manufacturer website: www.staad.com.
